Intern Program Sponsors - 2025

Below is additional information on key components of the Studio Wesley Intern Program and ways you can financially support individual interns or the overall program.

PROGRAM GOALS

The Studio Wesley Intern Program is designed to provide college-aged young adults with an opportunity to:

  • Grow in their faith and leadership skills through mentorship, community, and personal exploration in the digital space.

  • Receive personalized support and mentoring during the calendar year.

  • Help Studio Wesley develop new content and strategies to more effectively serve college-aged young adults in the digital space.

In January 2025 semester, Studio Wesley will launch a second cohort of interns with these goals:

Nurturing Future Leaders: Continue to mentor and support young adults with a UMC background, especially those with potential for future leadership roles as lay and clergy.

Content for Young Adults: Leverage interns' insights to create content that resonates with their peers' faith journeys and personal growth.

Exploration in Ministry: Consider ways that interns can engage their gifts, interests, and passions in supervised ministry by connecting them with specific congregations, ministries or other initiatives as a part of the internship.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

The 2025 Intern Class will participate for the entire calendar year (January - December). Participants in the pilot intern program will be required to devote 3-4 hrs/week for the following components:

Weekly Discipleship Group (1 hour/week): This is the core of the program. This weekly zoom meeting will be led by a campus minister and offer participants a chance to connect with fellow interns for spiritual growth and community building. We'll tentatively hold these meetings on Sunday afternoons or early evenings. This component is non-negotiable.

Studio Wesley Content (2-3 hours/week): Interns will be invited to participate in one or more of the Studio Wesley “shows” designed for a college-aged young adult audience (ie Studio Wesley Annex). They will be invited to participate in 1-2 episodes per month, depending on their schedule. This component is negotiable and adaptable to the gifts, abilities, interests, and availability of the participant.

Ministry Initiative (4-5 hours/month). Interns will spend the semester working on a specific ministry initiative with a partnering congregation, ministry or initiative. Examples may include a Studio Wesley's ministry (such as The Wellness Project), a ministry of a sponsoring local church or an initiative of a supporting annual conference. This component will include receiving guidance, support, and/or oversight from the Studio Wesley team. This component is meant to supplement the intern experience and exploration of their calling. This component is negotiable, and adaptable to the gifts, abilities, interests, and availability of the participant.

● Monthly Mentoring (1 hour/month): Interns will meet virtually with the Digital Campus Minister for personalized mentoring and support. This component is non-negotiable, but adaptable to fit the availability of the participant.

Interns will receive a stipend of $400/month for their time, efforts and creativity.

fully “on-screen” for this part of the gathering.

Weekly Teaching: 20 minutes

Update on Tasks and Coming Event: 8 minutes
